Nakheel, the world-leading master developer, concluded a successful partnership with Hero Dubai Desert Classic during its landmark 35th edition held at Emirates Golf Club recently.

Defending champion and world No 2, Rory Mcllroy successfully defended his title for the fourth year with an impressive one-shot win at the global event that drew the best golfers from around the world. The record victory comes on the heels of his runner-up finish at the Dubai Invitational. The 34-year-old Northern Irishman scored his 38th career win as a professional with the Hero Dubai Desert Classic trophy cementing yet again his status as a top player. The Dallah Trophy was presented to Mcllroy by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

The four-day world-class golfing event, which took place from January 18-21, drew massive crowds, reaffirming the popularity of sporting events for the Dubai community. The resounding success of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic reiterates Nakheel’s core commitment to encourage an active, healthy and holistic lifestyle for Dubai residents and visitors alike through partnering with organisations that call for participation from the local community as well as from international visitors.
