HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum is the Chairman of Dubai Holding and has been at the forefront of Dubai’s remarkable economic growth and development journey for over 38 years.

With a corporate leadership trajectory dating back to 1985, Sheikh Ahmed has achieved extraordinary success. He is currently the President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), the Chairman of Emirates NBD, the Chairman of Dubai Airports and the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, which includes Dnata.

Sheikh Ahmed also holds several influential government positions, including serving as Second Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, which is responsible for formulating policies and strategies for Dubai, Chairman of Dubai’s Supreme Fiscal Committee and Board Member of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD).

Sheikh Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Denver in the United States. He has received many international honours, including the fellowship of the British Royal Aeronautical Society, Commandeur de l’Ordre de la Legion d’Honneur (the Legion of Honour) – the highest French civilian award, the Verfassungsportugaleser, one of Germany’s highest honours, and an honorary degree of Doctor of Science from City University London, Cass Business School.

Amit Kaushal
Group Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Holding

Amit Kaushal was appointed as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding in February 2018. Since then, he has been leading the Group’s investments in over 30 countries across a broad range of sectors, including real estate, hospitality, media, retail, leisure and entertainment.

During his tenure, Amit has led several transformational initiatives that have helped spur sustainable economic growth through diversification and investments in strategic partnerships, both in the UAE and internationally. These included the successful listings of TECOM Group PJSC (TECOM), the Group’s operator of business districts; and Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling service provider, on the Dubai Financial Market in 2022.

Other key initiatives that Amit oversaw included the integration into Dubai Holding of Meraas, a world-class real estate master developer, and the creation of significant strategic partnerships with leading UAE and global corporations – the more recent ones including joint ventures with leading global alternative asset manager Brookfield Asset Management and leading UAE real estate developer and manager Aldar Properties PJSC, as well as transactions with Emaar Properties PJSC and Emirates NBD, which resulted in Dubai Holding becoming the second largest shareholder in these two listed entities.

Amit has also been instrumental in strengthening Dubai Holding’s position as a global leader in the luxury hospitality market through strategic acquisitions of flagship properties such as The Westin-Paris Vendome (France), Le Richemond (Switzerland) and Capri Palace (Italy).

Under Amit’s leadership, Dubai Holding’s sustainability agenda has taken a central role, with the establishment of an ESG strategy and a major investment by Dubai Holding in the world’s largest waste-to-energy plant, among others.

In addition to his executive leadership of the Group, Amit serves on the boards and committees of several regional and international organisations. His current board involvements include non-executive directorships on TECOM and Empower. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Warwick Business School, a leading Russell Group university in the UK. Amit is also a member of TECOM’s and Empower’s respective Audit and Risk Committees and Empower’s respective Nomination and Remuneration Committees. He also chairs the Executive Committee and sits on the Investment Committee of Shamal Holding LLC, a diversified investment company.

Amit has a strong experience in financial services, having spent more than a decade in the earlier years of his career with leading investment banks in London and Dubai, where he worked for Goldman Sachs, UBS and Deutsche Bank across transaction advisory, structuring and capital markets disciplines.

Amit is a British national and holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Finance from the University of Cambridge (UK) and a BSc (First Class Hons.) in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick (UK).

Naaman Atallah
Group Chief Executive Officer
An industry veteran with nearly three decades of professional experience, Naaman Atallah is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nakheel and Meydan. He leads a workforce of over 1,300 employees to deliver innovative developments offering exceptional residential, retail, hospitality and leisure choices to customers.

Naaman joined the company in Q4 2020 and has been instrumental in transforming the company’s credentials as a world leading master developer. As a distinguished industry leader and strategic thinker, Naaman has focused on customer centricity as a key pillar to drive business excellence and growth. His many accomplishments include redesigning and realigning Nakheel’s business strategy with a delivery focused model, keeping customers as a central focus. This has resulted in significant market demand and an over achievement of sales, in less than a year, as well as building an inclusive workforce that reflects the Nakheel brand values and ethos.

Prior to joining Nakheel, Naaman has held senior leadership roles for some of the most prominent companies in the real estate industry including CEO of Piramal Realty in India, CEO of Dubai Properties, COO of Emaar and COO of Qatari Diar. He has held numerous positions at real estate industry bodies including an advisory role on the Investment Committees of Real Estate Funds. He is currently a board member of the real estate division of the Misk Foundation for the advancement of Saudi youth.

Naaman earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Pepperdine University.

Junaid Rahimullah
Chief Finance & Administration Officer
Junaid Rahimullah joined Nakheel as Chief Financial Officer in October 2020 with a focus on driving the company’s growth.

His remit includes finance, procurement, technology, contracts, human resources, concession, and administration. He has worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer to create a collaborative workplace culture and strengthen governance and accountability at Nakheel.

Junaid began his 30-year career in the Middle East as an auditor at Arthur Andersen in Oman before joining the Dubai office where he progressed to senior management. Prior to joining Nakheel, Junaid held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Dubai World where he played a pivotal role in negotiating a USD 17 billion debt restructuring.

Junaid also serves on the boards of Gulf African Bank, One&Only Resorts and Mazagan. A chartered accountant and a certified public accountant, Junaid was educated in Pakistan and the United States of America.

Omar Khoory
Chief Assets Officer
Omar Khoory is the Chief Assets and Hospitality Officer overseeing the retail, leisure, hospitality and marina sectors at Nakheel, including more than 20,000 villas and apartments, 3,500 hotel keys and 500 berths.

Through his 15-year tenure holding various positions at Nakheel, Omar now spearheads the management, operation and leasing of world-famous hotels, large-scale destination developments, as well as two state-of-the-art marinas. He has also led the realisation, development and delivery of The View at The Palm, creating an award-winning tourist attraction for the UAE.

Born in Dubai and educated in the UK, Omar has an Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree from City, University of London as well as a Leadership and Management certification from Wharton Executive Education, University of Pennsylvania. Omar also became a member of Young Presidents’ Organisation, the global leadership community of extraordinary leaders.

Rasha Hasan
Chief Commercial Officer
Rasha Hasan joined Nakheel in 2021 as Chief Commercial Officer, leading the sales and product launch strategies. She brings her passion for building customer relations to Nakheel, continuously developing outstanding customer journeys to increase market share and uphold the company’s brand image.

With over 18 years of experience in the real estate industry in the UAE, Rasha has held senior management positions at some of Dubai’s largest real estate companies and has played an instrumental role in the successful sales launches of the city’s most iconic projects.

Rasha is a Chartered Accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance. Her customer centric approach has seen her transform her career focus from banking to real estate.

Ayman Hamdy
General Counsel and Company Secretary
Ayman Hamdy joined Nakheel in 2020 as General Counsel and Company Secretary to revitalise the company’s legal, governance, compliance and regulatory functions. He is leading the restructuring and establishment of the new legal team that will help carry out Nakheel’s vision across its megaprojects.

Ayman’s 30-year legal career spans senior roles in government and private entities in the Middle East including Public Prosecutor at the Ministry of Justice in Egypt, Head of Legal at Unilever in the Middle East as well as positions as Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary for Emaar Properties PJSC and other international real estate companies. Ayman also served on the Board of Directors of many companies in the UAE and internationally.

He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Egyptian Bar Association and he has been practicing law in the UAE since 1996. He is a Fellow of the International Bar Association and a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the American Bar Association. He studied law at the law schools of Washington University at St. Louis (U.S.), Université Paris Dauphine (France) and Alexandria University (Egypt).

Mohammed Rashed
Chief Projects Officer
In his role as Chief Projects Officer at Nakheel, Mohammed Rashed is responsible for delivering diverse developments across Nakheel’s various portfolios.

Mohammed began his career at Nakheel in 2003 as a project architect and has since risen through the ranks to become Chief Projects Officer in 2020. Over the course of his time at Nakheel, Mohammed has worked on numerous flagship projects including Jumeirah Islands, Jebel Ali Village, Jumeirah Park and Dubai Islands, in addition to Nakheel’s various malls and destinations.

Passionate about delivering high-quality projects that meet the needs of the customers, Mohammed has ensured the delivery of over 20,000 residential units and overseen USD 5.5 billion worth of construction.

Mohammed holds a degree in Architectural Engineering from the College of Engineering at United Arab Emirates University and a master’s degree in International Business from the University of Wollongong in Dubai. He has also completed the Dubai World Leaders Programme at Wharton Business School in Pennsylvania.

Elias Moubayed
Chief Development Officer
Elias Moubayed is the Chief Development Officer at Nakheel and leads the asset developments portfolio overseeing the design and development of Nakheel’s master-planned communities. From site acquisition, project strategy and value chain development, to design works, public realm and infrastructure planning, Elias has been instrumental in the conception and delivery of Nakheel’s mega development projects including Palm Jebel Ali, Dubai Islands, Al Furjan, and Jebel Ali Village.

An architect and urban designer with over 25 years of experience, Elias has led the master development of iconic and award-winning projects across the Middle East and North America including the Beirut Central District Reconstruction, the US Census Bureau Headquarters, the Saraya Mixed Use Resorts Portfolio, and the Waterfront City Lifestyle Destination. 

He has held leadership positions with prominent regional and international organizations responsible for the development, master planning, design, and delivery of urban districts and key assets including hotels residences, offices, institutions, and retail entities.

Educated in Canada and the USA, Elias holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University.

Francis Giani
Chief Community Management Officer
Francis Giani is the Chief Community Management Officer overseeing Nakheel’s communities and leading business strategies to deliver world-class services and holistic living for all residents.

Francis joined Nakheel in 2020 and has been instrumental in transforming its community management business into a customer-centric and technology-driven business. Francis is passionate about creating a sense of belonging at Nakheel, whether for investors, residents, service providers or the workforce. He has also played an active role in bringing sustainability as an integral part of the community function.

With over 20 years of real estate experience specialising in community management and customer experience, Francis has held leadership positions across prominent regional developers and property management companies.

Born in South-Africa, Francis holds a master’s degree in Real Estate Investment and Finance with his thesis focusing on communities in the UAE. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Law) degree as well as a degree in speech and communication.

Abed Bibi joined Nakheel in 2021 as Chief Marketing Officer where he leads the branding and marketing strategy. He is spearheading the digital transformation across all areas of the business and is bringing his passion for enhancing experiences to Nakheel to ensure that the company is a customer-first brand.

An avid entrepreneur and a creative leader with over 30 years of experience in the UAE, Abed has led innovative digital marketing companies across diverse sectors including real estate, start-ups, multinationals, and SMEs.

A computer science and accounting graduate from the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Abed’s creative spirit has seen him transform his career focus from an Electronic Data Processing and Financial Accounting auditor in his early career to a regional leader in marketing and branding.

Mr Khalid CPCO
Khalid Murshid Al Shehi
Chief Procurement and Contracts Officer
Khalid Murshid Al Shehi brings over 20 years of extensive senior experience to his role as the Chief Procurement and Contracts Officer of Nakheel. In his role, Khalid oversees the entirety of Nakheel’s contracting process across all business verticals. 

Since joining Nakheel in 2010, Khalid has held various senior management roles, specialising in carrying out and upholding the highest standards when it comes to Nakheel’s contractual and procurement planning processes and undertakings. Since 2015, Khalid has had oversight of contracts to the value of AED 38 billion across construction, operations and consultancy, issued over 7,000 purchase orders and provided input into over 100 legal processes. Khalid’s role has the responsibility of guarding against legal risk, settling litigation processes, providing oversight to the contracting and procurement processes, leading on negotiations and contributing to the overall Nakheel business plan.

Khalid’s career is a testament to his professional diversity, having worked previously in commercial procurement and now in Nakheel focusing on contracts and procurement and working with internal and external stakeholders to provide solutions-based outcomes. 

Prior to joining Nakheel, Khalid worked at Dubai Ports Authority, Dubai Properties and Tamdeen, where he focused on project development, management, delivery and maintenance.

Khalid holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in industrial engineering, both from Miami University, USA. He is also a recipient of the Sheikh Rashid Award for Academic Excellence.
