LiveWell with Nakheel, a community health and wellness initiative across Nakheel’s communities in Dubai, is hosting the second event in its series of monthly live sessions on Saturday, 30 July at Loui Restaurant & Café, at Circle Mall. Run by Nakheel Community Management and in partnership with Irina Sharma, this initiative provides community residents with access to renowned global healthcare experts, who share their valuable insights into making smarter choices that enhance our well-being.

Following the successful first session in June at Jumeirah Islands, LiveWell with Nakheel’s upcoming event will feature Functional Medicine Practitioner, Dr. Nas Al Jafari, as guest speaker who will discuss the importance of gut health for overall well-being and longevity, with practical information on popular digestive health topics that are often misconstrued.

A recent Oxford University study1 related to social behaviour found that people with larger social networks tended to have a more diverse gut microbiome, which is often associated with better gut health and general health. The study also revealed that the key to a long life is a strong sense of community and purpose. The importance of interpersonal relationships makes life worth living, and the goal should always be to LiveWell longer, not just to live long.

Dr Al Jafari said, “Gut health is the foundation of wellness and vitality. When digestive issues arise, functional medicine focuses on the root cause of health issues – which starts in the gut. Balancing the gut can have a positive impact on immune function and general health. Gut health is one part of a complex puzzle within the human body, which is why a holistic approach is essential.”

Francis Giani, Chief Community Management Officer at Nakheel said, “We are delighted that LiveWell with Nakheel has kickstarted conversations within our communities about self-care and the link between a happy, positive lifestyle and health. The initiative’s monthly events are a great addition to our regular community events calendar, which features various family experiences that bring residents together.”

LiveWell partner Irina Sharma said, “These monthly talks are providing a platform for social wellness and improved lifestyle choices amongst the communities. For prevention of diseases, an informed community and engagement is vital. On July 30th, I’m excited to converse with Dr. Nas on gut bacteria and the health of our gut lining and explore how it effects our mind, mood, and body in ways from minor (energy and skin) to major (chronic inflammation and disease).”

Be our guest at the LiveWell with Nakheel event on Saturday, 30 July, 10.30am – 12.30pm, at Circle Mall in Jumeirah Village Circle, and learn how imbalances of the microbiome have been proven to contribute to chronic disease, and the changes we can make in our daily life to start rehabilitating this important system. How to care for it is the first step to maintaining a healthy gut.

Entrance is free, advance booking is required. Please book at https://livewell.nakheelcommunities.com. Follow @nakheelcommunities on social media to stay updated on LiveWell with Nakheel and other community events.
